Oh boy, been a while since I posted something out here. Well it's a combination of multiple factors for my sabbatical which kept me from posting this, I can promise that this is the culmination of all my drafts which had been sitting for the past 2 months. I promise that I will make a posting regularly this year and to that I will stick too.

I forgot that it's my sixth anniversary of my baby(my blog of course). After glancing through my archive I have had this sense of fulfillment which gave me this euphoric feeling. It's not an easy task to keep a blog running among the six years and every time I want to reflect on a part of my life these provide more illumination and clarity for looking at the same issue in a different perspective. This blog is part of my evolution and it showed me how much I have come far from that time when I started this. A long way indeed.

As for the new year I would've to admit on the fact its a very special new year from the moment the clock chimed 12. I have a feeling it's going to be a very special year indeed. Reflecting on my past year I've had a rather very rough year for the initial 7 months and a wonderful 5 months to make it up for the hardship which I was put through. May be its the pattern of life and I can vouch for the fact that the fulfillment I attained in this past 5 months was well worth the 7 months of hassle and especially the last 3 months. They have been wonderful. I could write a blog on everyday for the past 90 days ever since I was lucky to gaze those emerald eyes. It's really amazing how one person can make a big difference on the outlook of life.

I have been really productive at work. My mom always says the mental satisfaction is the one which could drive you to an Utopian state where all your senses feel synergistic with the world and gives you that spark which would make you love everyday of life. I used to be really skeptical about her words if i really would go to that place because I am that sort of person who never gets satisfied with anything. Always looking for the next level to ascend too, but for once I felt I was disproved by mom's theory. I concur with her on the fact which could be the new transition which is taking over right now. I feel extremely happy everything synchronizes now work, family etc.

On a rather nostalgic note. I started off my blog with a post on Sherlock Holmes. Well I have always been an ardent follower of the series created by Doyle. I wanted to add a note about the modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock. It's pretty amazing I haven't written a detailed blog on the series yet but quite possibly the best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes yet and had Doyle been alive how proud he would've been? One of the many reasons I love the show is because of the fact that the creators of the show are lovers of the original and they do their amazing best to allure to the original in all they could and very little attention to detail which makes the book readers proud of that fact. Most people who watch it for the sake of watching a TV show won't really understand the complete analogy and the root of the show. I will do a more detailed posting on this after the finale of the Season 2 which airs next week.

It's been a truly wonderful start so far, Among the six years I have been logging my experiences on my blog this year has to be the best new year's eve ever. I have to add the word Classy to highlight the significance. I feel so tempted to end this blog with a tune of Ennio Morricone but I have a special song specifically to end this post for a very specific reference.

I couldn't believe it when I saw the news, Ironically I was making a comment about the new iPhone 4s on my tech blog and just got home after work to bump across this terrible news.

I couldn't imagine an Apple without jobs, People say they admire him for his visionary skills as for me I admire him for his tenacity. The tenacity which I looked up to. Not an ideal end to the day I was seeking.

This is the song running in a loop in my iPad who is mourning the death of her visionary creator! The void will remain for a while.

Missouri diaries - Destined meeting?

I would be lying if I were to say I didn't feel euphoric writing this post today. I wanted to write this last night but after a day of really amazing incidents it was pretty hard to get my brain to make a posting out of it.Ideally the day ought to have started on a rather different note. I was actually very interested in the LAN party which was going on my company. I couldn't believe the ad which was posted on my company game community group.

Yes you read it right my company has a group like that amidst many other groups. Ain't it cool? Well I was very pretty excited like a kid opening a present it's been just 3 weeks since I started the work here and I those weeks I had the LAN party. Considering the fact that I got my first LAN party in buffalo after 3 years. The only let down being the fact that I didn't knew anyone in the event and primarily I didn't see Mortal Kombat being listed on the game list. One thing added to other and eventually I lost the fire which was raging like a jungle fire for the first 3 days after I saw the ad. I am really glad that I actually made that decision where in starts the beginning of the eventful night which will linger with me for a long time.

Instead I rather started the Saturday typically, I missed the starting half of the Merseyside derby but eventually felt better when Suarez netted the second one and my body was longing for some caffeine so I took the pleasant walk to a coffee spot nearby, In the recent past there had been many instances whenever there was an initial spark of something wonderful which is about to happen in the prospect but in a few moments those instances become totally void but not this time. What started as a simple banter eventually became "The Challenge". For once there was actually something which didn't become transient so fast and all those days I was looking for a way to express my perceptions through my postings here I finally had the opportunity to express all these to one special emerald eyed person who was wiling to take that leap of faith with me. Now that I realize about the amazing night which had passed I realized I did share some of the memories which I was very reluctant to share it with anyone for that matter and actually felt a lot better after sharing them.

The later parts of this wonderful rendezvous would have to stay with me for time being. My uplifting mood is now well above the stratosphere and I feel like I am rocking out in colosseum all alone to Metallica cover of ecstasy of gold. I want to break the norm of ending my posts with a video. I'd much rather end this on a poetic note.

Missouri Diaries

Well after a long time spend procrastinating the creation of this post I finally got enough motivation to write this today to completion. I should probably say I felt motivated through a series of rather serendipitous circumstances.

First things first, Transitioning into MO has finally been completed. I still do miss my old apartment, but the transition has been pretty smooth in ways which I quite didn't expect. I was more skeptical carrying my game console on 11/9 on an airport but fortunately for me security wasn't that much stringent in enforcing severe measures to scan all my gadgets. I'd say I got lucky as I have been getting really lucky in the last month or so. Probably feels like the most serene phase I ever had in a long time. My mind is at peace and I am beginning to like MO unlike my first transition into Boston from Buffalo where i loathed Boston for at least 6 months.

Autumn is off to a rather wonderful start. In a way to illuminate on the reflections of that effect I have made this new template change to my blogger as well. The only distressing thing I have faced so far after coming in is the fact that my Macho Windows Phone died on me. I learned a valuable lesson from all of this though with ATT i should take insurance on anything without asking a question. I was thinking with this being just hardly 4 months old I was hoping they'd send me a replacement. I thank you very much for depriving me of my beautiful Windows Phone. I don't even to start on the spare I am having for time sake. I want this blog to end on an uplifting note rather. Bring on the iPhone 5 I say. The story's true irony happened to be the fact that when I set up my Windows Phone Dev Tools on my work lappie my phone had to crash. Kalla Kanda, Naaya Kanom. Duh!

On the other note. I really am looking forward to September 30th with eager eyes. I am currently chewing something very interesting thought process. I do need to do lot of data collection and consider other interesting pointers from very important external sources to make it effective though. I am pretty sure next posting will have the glitter to it.

A New Dawn

First things first, September as usual is pretty eventful for the number of birthdays they usually have one of my father's and my best buddy. Happy birthday SV..well a special birthday considering the event of his marriage :) still 2 more birthdays left one being the occasion of my brother's which falls towards the end of this month and another one tomorrow for my chicken-aholic buddy Shruti.

Personally it's a wonderful month for me in all perspectives still euphoric from the amazing last 2 weeks and with my travel preparations to another new place for a new start yet again but Boston had some wonderful memories which I would cherish forever.

A long post is due on Boston times, well I will keep it short for now and will conclude this post with a picture.

After all they say a picture is worth more than 1000 words.

Incredible month indeed

It's been a real eventful month not just for me, I just can't put my finger into number of items that I want to blog about. Personally couldn't ask for a wonderful month after the stint of horrid months I've been facing recently. It's so nice to get a bunch of new offers and I had the option to turn down plenty at this juncture. The silver lining happens to be the job which gives me the foray into Android Development which I have been itching to get my hands on in the recent past.

As for the other jazz we had the Google's famous Moto take over and the retirement of legendary Jobs. I was really impressed how the social media is so powerful and in a ways its a double edged knife which I don't like. The news of these events spread through twitter, facebook & even LinkedIn of all places. It's good to see people staying trendy top notch.

I definitely have to add in the feeling of experiencing my first tornado last night which emphasized the fact that man no matter how smarter and effective his weapons and tools have evolved over each year it still doesn't compute a little to the nature's power. I also did manage to experience my first blackout here in US the weird feeling gave me the sensation of being back at home. It was nostalgic and lack of power made me complete the last part of Millenium Trilogy - The girl who kicked the hornet's nest though the book lacked the initial charm first book had it picked up pace slowly. I was satisfied to finish the trilogy finally and I am looking forward to David Fincher's adaptation later this year.

I am also thankful that my affair with Irene isn't long term but rather a stormy one night affair which took my power away ;) (Alright this song is for Irene you twisted minds).

As I am posting this I have a really content serene feeling lingering in my mind for this past one month. It's so good to have this phase after a really stormy phase. Song for the moment.

I started on my writing venture finally, I am currently on the data collection phase until then this project will be in total wraps (of course I will churn the rumor mills here). Until Next time!!

Deathly Hallows

Thank god the series of movies have come to halt. The fanaticism I used to have for Harry Potter waned once I read LOTR and saw the epic movie trilogy. Technically speaking in my perspective all movies from the third never really were portrayed likewise in the movie. I had very less hopes while i went to the theater today and my instincts were spot on. It once again brought me to square one thought process saying "Why do they change the core basic aspects of the story, especially the ending duel dialogues between Harry & Voldemort!!"

I was happy only with just a single aspect in the movie which was the portrayal of the Severus Snape's pensieve moments if only the director had the vision to see it through till the end.

Below is the scene which struck me while I was watching the movie's finale as the striking part between the ending of LOTR and HP. It won't be a fair comparison to equate the legendary masterpiece of J.R.R Tolkien & Peter Jackson's visionary movie making skills to lackluster movie making skills of Warner Bros Production. The below scene sums up my emotions.

Why can't HP movie makers take a little leaf out of Peter Jackson's book. Only icing on the cake in watching the movie today was the first peek at Dark Knight Rises. Can't wait!!

Guess life is a big circle as i realized yesterday, Roger Federer in the peak of his powers used to lose to one Mr.Nadal now one Mr.Nadal in his prime is consistently outclassed by one Mr.Djokovic.

Wimbledon final without Roger Federer is so void. To hell with critics and what they had to say. Same applies to movie Sucker punch. Zack Snyder is such a visionary.

Possible Spoilers below: To curb my idleness i rented Sucker Punch from Amazon video because I wanted to watch it in top notch clarity to see the Zack Snyder special effects. Movie was totally worth it.

Here's what you might possibly get in the movie.

Hot chicks & Guns. (Esp the protagonist Babydoll, this doesn't go the Charlie's angels way trust me)

Samurais with Chain guns (I loved it)

Nazi zombie soldiers

Zeppelins ( Got to see one in a movie after a long time)

A Robot which resembled Big Daddy in Bioshock games

Orcs & Dragons

Androids on a train (i had a feeling they resembled the terminator)

Finally that ending with a Sucker punch! (OOPS I blew it)

Aesthetically brilliant movie and stunt scenes were exquisite. I heard a rumor that J.J.Abrams is making the movie adaptation of Samurai Jack. (People who haven't heard about him check video below). I really wish Zack Snyder could do that movie a whole lot of justice after watching Sucker punch and 300. On the bright side Can't wait for Superman's Reboot. Zack Snyder FTW!!

Been tied up a whole lot last 2 months, with whole lot of ideas in drafts just wanted to break the dull-drum. I also wanted to review a couple of books. Quite possibly the best enactment of Sherlock Holmes I've seen until date, Loved all the three episodes totally and so raring for the season 2 to start.

A Study in Pink totally ruled and main thing about this show is the fact that the elusive mind games between Sherlock and Moriarity have been given whole lot of detail. Wondering how Guy Ritchie would base his next movie now that this show has set up a benchmark!

Gone are those fantastic days when the occurrence of 300+ score in an ODI cricket used to be a rarity. Now a days it's the vice-versa . I got to witness the record highest chase in WC history and accomplished by Ireland vs England today, I wanted the Irish team to win today but the fact which is being overlooked is the state of pitches created in India. Simply there is no respect for bowlers in the WC and that's the most pivotal element which made cricket less fascinating to me these days.

When will i ever get to see those 230 totals and teams successfully defending it!! (Reference: 1996 and 1999 World Cup Semifinals). I am having a gut feeling Aussies will prevail yet again this WC despite all the odds against them!!

Something about this weekend is really so uplifting. Maintenance work today @ work means it was a surprise long weekend for us. Crazy week of football but really happy for the fact Reds thrashed blues this weekend to make me a happy bunny! 4 in a row we're on the comeback trail. As of now i will leave you with this.

Loved CoD Modern Warfare 2, Blackops sucked when compared to Modern Warfare 2. Zimmer's soundtrack was one of the main reason why i ended up beating the entire game on a single stretch on Saturday afternoon!! The last boat ride reminded me of Halo Warthog runs the first CoD game i liked so much!

I remember seeing you score on your Anfield debut right away, that was the start of an awesome era which i will cherish forever. I admit we didn't win a premier league then we were the defending European champs then and we proved that it was no fluke one year later by going there once more. Liverpool were then a poet's delight we might take a terrible defeat on BPL but the very next day in Champions league we were simply untouchable. Every team in Europe strongly feared the prospect of meeting Liverpool in the Champions League then.

I do admit the last 2 years our performance have gone down. Just like the Windies faded from cricket a decade ago it's the lull after a storm i personally take it as the lull before the storm. Oh Nando You're Liverpool's prized stallion, i admit that we couldn't get a Champions league berth for next season but your comment on joining chelsea saying "There is not another level after chelsea" my my Fernando you seem to forget the fact that they won 3/4 titles only in the last decade!!

You were our prince, We wish you luck but the passion for the club is bigger than you always. I am quite disheartened at the way you left us. Adios Fernando Torres!! if there is one last favor i expect of you it would be to see you stop Manure's bid to title this year!!

I don't know if it's the Monday morning blues or whatever which prompted me to post this in the middle of a working day. Actually i was excited to get to work today than any other day and as i am waiting on a request i thought i will give this a posting before i get back to work again.

May be it's the weird status messages people post on Facebook & twitter which made me to post this which made me wonder "Is it just me or some people complain all the time??". For some reason its impossible to stand those status messages. Worse are the people who tweet or post in the middle of football matches giving a bloody running commentary(An exclamatory status is understandable but giving a running commentary when the match is live i feel its totally (*ay) overkill) & there are other sets of people who try to stay contemporary(They are the best i mean seriously!!) I don't even want to start on them i am feeling tired already!!.

I guess for anyone reading i might sound complaining. Its more like lamenting if i were to explain better. I was reading about murphy's love laws other day and all of sudden got reminded of that today "The amount of love someone feels for you is inversely proportional to how much you love them." It suddenly triggered a new chain of thought processes. I wonder how others feel about this as well(i should also ask married guys about this ;D) before i can corroborate on it further.

My brain is really active for some reason today. May be its the Serene Weekend i had or May be its the Murphy's law or May be it's the High Fidelity movie which i watched for nth time last night or May be its the weather today(probably the beautiful weather ever since i moved to Boston 3 weeks ago) or may be its the coffee i had or May be its her after all??

I guess its time to put this adrenaline to good use & right time to conclude this post.

PS: I will finish the post on the other thought process which Murphy's law triggered in the next post for sure.This is one of those blogs from work after a long time indeed. Feel free to ping me with your thoughts on this.

Love is just the beginning not every love story has a happy ending. Given the current chaotic state of the world which is growing exponentially in this world there is no guarantee in love pretty much. Many lose steam, many lose track haplessly, many break into thousand pieces but.. There are quite a few exceptions which stand together amidst all odds and go on until the very end. The Ultimatum Marriage.The one marriage that is scheduled to take place tomorrow falls exactly in to the type i listed above.

Bangalore Industrial Visit was just the starting point but they came a long way after that. After seeing a first hand view of the hardships they have been through i really appreciate their commitment through the tough times. I wish i were there in India to witness it in person. duh which i cant! right now all i can do is to congratulate them through this. I Wish them Good luck and an awesome married life ahead.

I am sure there are plenty of marriages that fall into the same category are coming up soon. Watch this space for more.

PS: I have been really busy off late, that's why the reduction in frequency. Will be back with more soon!!

Been a hectic couple of months to say the least. World cup round the corner so thought of getting my posts back for this one atleast.

An eventful month i wish i were back home to be on spot on for 2 very important marriages which i will be missing. As i was typing this post i just contemplated about all the incidents that happened (with respect to the marriages) and was amazed at how fast time had indeed passed. more on this sooner on my post once the marriage gets completed.

Missing the good ol gang big time. Just give me couple of weeks people. Hopefully that is all i need i guess. More stories in the queue soon lots of blogs to be published once my shackles go free.

As for WC it's the 3 Lions i am cheering for this time. I simply don't care what happens anymore!! (Liverpool aftermath && Federer's exit the major reasons among many).

Enjoyed the Surprising Mini Vacation which just dropped along the way. Fingers crossed for a crucial week ahead. But the euphoria of vacation is still on.

Wanted to make my first post from an airport at least this time. tried twice but either my laptop went out or i was too busy doing something else when the idea struck @ the back of the head. I surely hope to do it definitely asap.

Too tired to make a complete post as of now. It's been a while since i listed my travel log after the ones i used to list 3 years ago. The Complete post would make for an exciting story pretty much. Hoping to complete that really soon.

Match of the Season

My Match of the season is finally here, no matter how much disastrous season we have in CL & EPL. Reds can't just afford to lose this sunday to arch rivals @ old trafford. The first match of the entire year in EPL which i am so eager to follow.

Time is flying in this month too fast. It had its own ebbs & flows pretty much and the cracker of F1 Season too started. A post on Schumi is still due though i am reserving it to the moment in which he secures a pole or a win which is not very far away.

XHTML & CSS have been the notion for the past 2 weeks. Looking forward to end the next week on a high. As of now i leave you with my favourite song which is buzzing through my mind for the past one month.

Bravo Hans Landa of SS, Waltz opened the account for Basterds Guns blazing. I was fooled when i thought this was going to be a Basterd's Night @ Academy. It was quite "Hurt" in fact, when academy are obsessed about one particular movie the other good ones hardly have any chance at all, that's what happened to Basterds and District 9 i was hoping that one of them might away run with the win this time. So near yet so far for Quentin.

Zimmer also lost today :( but atleast Zimmer's defeat was acceptable considering Up's overwhelming win @ BAFTA. Last year Slumdog, this year it's Hurt locker...yawns!

As for my Favorites of last year here it goes.

Best Movie: Tie between Inglorious Basterds & Star Trek ( i loved both of them and both had super amazing soundtrack backing them) every single person in Basterd's crew lived the role especially Waltz as Hans Landa and Brad pitt as Aldo Raine is underrated because of Waltz's performance.

Best Comedy: Tie between Zombieland & Hangover ( for people who haven't watched Zombieland it's a Must watch )

Best Sci-fi: District 9 (total ownage here) we have always imagined aliens to be far superior to us in everyway but this movie showed the aliens in a more different perspective than ever before & fight sequence in the end of the movie reminded me of scorpion levels in Halo. District 9 is Geek's Uber Choice.

Best Soundtrack: Sherlock Holmes & Star Trek (Atleast some consolation here in oscars Michael Giachianno won an oscar even though Star Trek was'nt nominated for the Oscar)

Best Horror: There were pretty good movies unlike the boring past 2 years in horror genre. Sam Raimi's "Drag me to Hell" was amazing & low budget "Paranormal Activity" drew wide acclaim.i loved both the movies.

There are plenty of movies to list out. but since i am running out of time i will conclude this here. hoping for a better night next year.

P.S: i am swearing at academy in case anyone is wondering about the title.

Somehow can't add this in my buzz so thought of posting it here, this is the video made in celebration of the nomination of Discombobulate & Sound Track of the Sherlock Holmes movie to the Academy & it happens to be a real sweet video of the Zimmer's crew along with Ritchie & Downey!!

Seems like the odds of Hans Zimmer winning the oscar looks far tougher..oscar or not this will be an amazing track remembered for quite a while, hope the sequel ends up better than the original as of now i leave you with this...

I guess Futball (not soccer) here is overrated.. as per the stats 200 million was spend on ads during last year's super bowl between steelers & cardinals.. i don't know shit about both the teams but i had watched it last year since i was at my buddy's place for the holidays then..i thought i should get to see it primarily for the reason to interface with people out here... for some reason i don't find the game so amusing..i tried to set priority & had a proper buildup to watch it this time.. i guess i find it lame because of the one reasons which are listed below..

>> I hate this being called as Football..Football aka soccer is the only football i know...for the information not many here know that Soccer(not football) is the world's most viewed sport.. or may be they are too ignorant to accept that fact!! Being a soccermaniac is of no help to watch this sport i believe..may be..

>> Dude..What's up with so many time outs??? i mean seriously.. its not a bloody chess.... Soccer..Tennis..Cricket..F1..Basketball..Hockey..TT!! guess what do they have in common.. they are fast and wicked.. the speed in which in the events take place keep the adrenaline rushing to give a high..euphoria or the wicked feeling of dejection @ the end of the event..which i don't quite find it with respect to it..

I guess i am getting too much carried away with hatred off late.. so i thought of venting out a bit here..poor super bowl i believe had to bear the receiving end today, may be i will like it sometime sooner.. but as for now the sport its pretty much puffed up rugby always with so much glamor.

Had a low profile january...not so good start to the new year with the sole exception of Federer's blitz in the oz open!! tennis is at its peak moment i never thought it would get so much competitive like this.. and my raquetball too getting really good :) :)

Happened to read 2 States by Chetan Bhagat(courtesy ninja).. felt really good to read something after the Lost symbol.. it was a quite simple story but yet it was very much realistic the story triggered some nostalgic flashbacks pretty much..i am really startled(&happy) for the fact that it attracted SV so much so as to go down as his FB status message!! he is down deep with the book right now..February is pretty good so far..hoping to end the drought right this month...

It's the time of the year again that i hate so much!! Roll away fast stupid week!!

As me expected...hans got an oscar nomination for sherlock holmes.. ye ye...soundtrack was simply scintillating which made me watch the movie 3 times.. really hoping that james horner doesn't walk away with the win this time..

for those who haven't been to the movie or heard the soundtrack..i recommend you to hear the soundtrack in the movie before you listen directly.. Discombobulate was the best track!! i love every track in it..it was just like Dead Man's chest all over again..with a whole wide genre..here is a little preview.. Robert Downey..Jude Law.. Guy Ritchie..Mark Strong.. Hans Zimmer!! Very much looking forward to the sequel..

Waiting for Inglorious basterds to knock out the both the movie & director awards from Avatar!!! So many good movies this time.. i guess they need to add a sci-fi category to the academy..which would have pitted star trek against district 9 & avatar.. fingers crossed for now!!

A Year Flew by..

Its been a year since federer broke down emotionally in Rod laver arena...now this year the scenario changed completely... He has the elusive french open in his grasp... His favourite World #1.. 23 consecutive grandslam semifinals.. and all the good stats pointing towards him. & his sweet 16th grand slam.. he nailed Murray in the finals.. The mark of a true champion!!!

I am very proud to be a Roger Federer Fan.. i can vehemently claim that i have watched Federer claim all his grandslams..ever since his first win against philippoussis untill now till he quits tennis.. i guess he still has 3-4 years up his sleeve..i can catch a match with federer on soon indeed!!

Bubye 2009... Well Hello 2010..

Amazing year to say the least.. Its been 4 years since i started this blog... something which i am proud of.. last year despite the hectic schedule i managed to post every month.. of course in December frequency dropped correspondingly because of my hectic grad schedule..

finally i graduated.. 2 years flew by.. its been 4 years since i passed out of my bachelors.. the playful youth has passed by..i could feel the cloud of responsibility moving over.. things which were gloomier, harder to accept then are becoming lot clearer.. appreciation towards life has increased a lot & of course seclusion too.. guy who happened to be an extrovert then prefers to spend time alone.. life has come a long way since then!!

If bachelor life in chennai was amazing.. buffalo was a blast.. whole new circle of friends..whole new life style.. of course it missed the charm of the madurai way..but it was nevertheless a new avenue.. i started this post strongly as i progress lots of thoughts comes twirling onto my mind..getting nostalgic...

memories which i cherish..
memories that i want to forget..
things which i shouldn't have done hastily..
things in which i shouldn't have delayed..
things which i am hesitant to do right now too..

i understood why they say "man should learn from his mistakes!!"..but then again i learnt from my mistakes i don't get the choice to make the correct decision at all.. feels like the mistake downtrodden phases are much cheerful than these lonely gloomier illuminated phases..

As soon as i feel invigorated to have ascended from mortal hood to a saint once i get that feeling something happens which makes me look like an arrogant little kid who hasn't grown at all.. i soar towards the stratosphere and hit the rock bottom time & again..variance in life is so much.. but then again last few months have been a revelation indeed..

Professional perspective these 2 years have been amazing.. the learning curve has been sigmoid exponential..last few months i was appalled to find that competitive urge which i thought dead & rotten was totally alive & kicking bad ass.. i wish to learn more & all the way until the end.. i usually set benchmarks to mark my growth..i guess for once i surpassed all of them.. Master's finally has been a revelation in exploring my esoteric self..

A Collage is due to mark the end of my master's..it will be up & running in the coming posts... I thank all my friends who were an integral part of my life & were there when i needed them..i wouldn't have come so far without them!!

This is a tribute to the nice guys. The nice guys that finish last, that never become more than friends, that endure hours of whining and bitching about what assholes guys are, while disproving the very point. This is dedicated to those guys who always provide a shoulder to lean on but restrain themselves to tentative hugs, those guys who hold open doors and give reassuring pats on the back and sit patiently outside the changing room at department stores. This is in honor of the guys that obligingly reiterate how cute/beautiful/smart/funny/sexy their female friends are at the appropriate moment, because they know most girls need that litany of support. This is in honor of the guys with open minds, with laid-back attitudes, with honest concern. This is in honor of the guys who respect a girl’s every facet, from her privacy to her theology to her clothing style.

This is for the guys who escort their drunk, bewildered female friends back from parties and never take advantage once they’re at her door, for the guys who accompany girls to bars as buffers against the rest of the creepy male population, for the guys who know a girl is fishing for compliments but give them out anyway, for the guys who always play by the rules in a game where the rules favor cheaters, for the guys who are accredited as boyfriend material but somehow don’t end up being boyfriends, for all the nice guys who are overlooked, underestimated, and unappreciated, for all the nice guys who are manipulated, misled, and unjustly abandoned, this is for you.

This is for that time she left 40 urgent messages on your cell phone, and when you called her back, she spent three hours painstakingly dissecting two sentences her boyfriend said to her over dinner. And even though you thought her boyfriend was a chump and a jerk, you assured her that it was all ok and she shouldn’t worry about it. This is for that time she interrupted the best killing spree you’d ever orchestrated in GTA3 to rant about a rumor that romantically linked her and the guy she thinks is the most repulsive person in the world. And even though you thought it was immature and you had nothing against the guy, you paused the game for two hours and helped her concoct a counter-rumor to spread around the floor. This is also for that time she didn’t have a date, so after numerous vows that there was nothing “serious” between the two of you, she dragged you to a party where you knew nobody, the beer was awful, and she flirted shamelessly with you, justifying each fit of reckless teasing by announcing to everyone: “oh, but we’re just friends!” And even though you were invited purely as a symbolic warm body for her ego, you went anyways. Because you’re nice like that.

The nice guys don’t often get credit where credit is due. And perhaps more disturbing, the nice guys don’t seem to get laid as often as they should. And I wish I could logically explain this trend, but I can’t. From what I have observed on campus and what I have learned from talking to friends at other schools and in the workplace, the only conclusion I can form is that many girls are just illogical, manipulative bitches. Many of them claim they just want to date a nice guy, but when presented with such a specimen, they say irrational, confusing things such as “oh, he’s too nice to date” or “he would be a good boyfriend but he’s not for me” or “he already puts up with so much from me, I couldn’t possibly ask him out!” or the most frustrating of all: “no, it would ruin our friendship.” Yet, they continue to lament the lack of datable men in the world, and they expect their too-nice-to-date male friends to sympathize and apologize for the men that are jerks. Sorry, guys, girls like that are beyond my ability to fathom. I can’t figure out why the connection breaks down between what they say (I want a nice guy!) and what they do (I’m going to sleep with this complete ass now!). But one thing I can do, is say that the nice-guy-finishes-last phenomenon doesn’t last forever. There are definitely many girls who grow out of that train of thought and realize they should be dating the nice guys, not taking them for granted. The tricky part is finding those girls, and even trickier, finding the ones that are single.

So, until those girls are found, I propose a toast to all the nice guys. You know who you are, and I know you’re sick of hearing yourself described as ubiquitously nice. But the truth of the matter is, the world needs your patience in the department store, your holding open of doors, your party escorting services, your propensity to be a sucker for a pretty smile. For all the crazy, inane, absurd things you tolerate, for all the situations where you are the faceless, nameless hero, my accolades, my acknowledgement, and my gratitude go out to you. You do have credibility in this society, and your well deserved vindication is coming.

Second consecutive diwali away from home.. Second one is more eventful than the first one(it was special in its own perspective)!!!

I think i should have gained atleast half a pound today alone.. Ate my heart out.. but missing all the very close people!! but nevertheless had a good time with everyone atleast through the phone..looking forward to have next diwali back at home..

Been quite a while since i posted a metaphorically stimulating post.. never had the liberty to contemplate that freely during these past 2 months..had a really brilliant day to say the least.. the euphoria after accomplishing something really successful(after 2-3 weeks of toiling hard work) is the very trigger for an avalanche of thought processes..

I got tempted to read the "The Cop & the Anthem" by O.Henry, who happened to one of the very short story writers i really admire a lot after i read about the snowy weather predictions for the diwali weekend suddenly i remembered the soapy character in the story looking at the signs which point towards the arrival of winter(i am not drawing any similarity to me & soapy here) so finished reading the story & for the people who didn't have a chance to read it, they can find it here which reminds me of the fact that i haven't had the privilege of reading short stories off late. O.Henry is captivating in that sense and i even tried my hand in amateur short story once through my blog here.

As soon as i finished traversing the story i wrote here in my space last semester. My weather widget beeped snow...i rushed to the window to see the first glimpse of the snow this fall..its my third winter in buffalo i can consider myself a veteran right now.. but the sight of snow is so beautiful that you can't help admiring its beauty forever.. i never hated the buffalo snow i only hate the windy cold weather..seeing the snow around on a day when i have nothing to do will make me really cheerful for some reason. it made me to quote one of my favorite frosty verses below.

The way a crow

Shook down on me

The dust of snow

From a hemlock tree

A change of mood

Of a day I had rued

Isn't Frost Amazing.. as soon as i saw the snow falling i had a sudden urge to drink some very strong coffee to admire the occasion even more fully... i enjoyed the little snowfall with coffee and Kashmir song by Led Zeppelin.. it was a wonderful feeling indeed.. it reminded me off the previous fall semester even though i erased every single memory of the past..but i just cant help thinking about it.. its been a while since i moved onto a new beginning.. never had the time for the past semester to contemplate & rewind the scenarios...Life is really eventful to say the least!!

Its going to be second straight diwali i am going to miss... I am really happy that i got to spend 2 months in India during the summer.. but miss eating the awesome sweets..home food..oil bath & most of all crackers.. i love firing crackers i dont know when i will get the opportunity again??? The fact that SV is in India for diwali & i could'nt be there isnt comforting it either.. missing the gang badly!!

I feel its the euphoria for the success in the project or may be its the romantic nexus between the Snow & the Coffee thing which acted as the catalyst for the thought process triggered. but then again i realize that Coffee gives more intoxication than alcohol(at least for me).

Easily one of the best days in buffalo..felt so good after writing this post which would look greek & latin to anyone who tries to find any pattern in it!!

Its been a real busy week, i sleep less than 6 hours a day. i love working harder & the job hunt is solely the prime purpose for me as of now.I wanted to reserve this post to the weekend but wanted to make this post in the middle of a very busy day @ school... i dedicate this post to my father... the ardent cricket fan i appreciate the most..no matter whatever crappy position indian cricket team is in he will continue watching the match..its not just my father there are millions of fans like that in India where cricket is rooted in our blood..

What did this indian cricket team do to fulfill the so much enthusiastic supporters???(please dont mention the context of T20 Cricket in here folks!!! i am talking about proper cricket here!) answer is absolutely nothing..every eve of a cricket match india plays generates n reviews in every news channel..create waves everywhere right from a barber shop to a cafetaria to a corporate workhouse everyone starts surmising about the match..i know the stake is higher..pressure on the indian team is enormous..but every now & then indian team does one thing best..crash out!!

This post comes from a typical australian supporter... i am not trying to reflect my views on this post..i am just trying to rede the general views of a typical desi..i tried calculating the expenditure deposited on cricket in india...stopped doing it as it went to a real overwhelming amount of money.. indian team & indian cricket board easily one of the richest in the world isnt doing enough justice to the amount of money deposited on them.. they have this habit of banking on bermuda to clear their way in the world cup & now they have transferred that heirloom to pakistan(seriously of all teams???)

I for one feel that people should stop caring about cricket. cricket is the main detrimental factor in the development of other sports in country..the reason we suck in world sports..olympics..all because of the one major factor..many people just become way too ignorant to know atleast a little info about our other fellow sportsmen even.. as inferred from the champions trophy and what will be inferred from the upcoming world cup it can be deduced that indian team will keep flopping big time.. indian fans who are fuming with anger easily get subsided by a single bilateral series victory and the whole process starts all over again before another major tournament.. its high time people start thinking.. i am tired arguing about this to so many insolent idiots who cant even perceive a clear demarcation between passion, performance & personal choice & people who so highly think of themselves as cricket analysts without giving a damn to other's opinions at all ..i really miss having TG & Sv with me right now..i am thoroughly pissed about this & the people who made me put this post right now in the middle of a very busy day..

God Save Indian Cricket!!!

P.S: I followed every ODI & Test played between 1995-2003 & i believe i do have some knowledge of cricket! i stopped following cricket ardently after the departure of Brian Charles Lara & Steve Waugh & lost prime interest in indian cricket team after the fiascos in which DADA and Wall got humiliated very badly after doing so much for the team.

got blown by the performance of the 2 maestros in the recent flick unnai pol oruvan, though the movie was a remake of a hindi blockbuster the performance of both actors was scintillating.. esp kamal towards the climax was ultra amazing.. good movie after a long time!!!

the much hyped dan brown's book followed the same plotlines which made davinci code along with angels & demons such a big hit.. as usual he did a lot of research & reading through felt like reading an encyclopaedia on freemasonry & their ideals..for people who love playing klueless most of the riddle stuff looked pretty familiar territory & was pretty easy to work out most of the solutions to it very easily..

in the end lost symbol was reiterating much of what kamal said in anbe sivam.. i guess kamal is always one step ahead of everyone in anything :) pretty good read overall..

a very sober afternoon @ UB... sober weekdays after an amazing weekend is so boring..needless to say.. had a pretty eventful month so far.. last 2 weekends are simply fantastic to say the least..

fresh from a first long weekend of the semester..started with a short tour to wings festival enjoyed the food there hardcore..followed it up with a spontaneous camping trip to 1000 islands.. first trip for amateur campers it was bloody brilliant i would say.. seriously awesome time @ the trip..

looking forward to keep the momentum going this semester & happy bday shruti too.. looking forward to the event filled blogs to follow!!

In life you meet several people.. loads of people come into your life & move out without leaving a trace of them.. but only few people manage to get deep down inside to the core of the heart...eventually where they change the defining attributes that you had..it takes a really influential person to do that to anyone..

I for one was very individualistic...never tried to change myself for anyone..but still there were really precious people who changed the way.. there is a limit which you can never reach alone.. the current position i reached i owe it to them.. i feel i am getting better everyday..thanks to my special buddies..

liked half blood prince.. really good movie..the tone of the movie was dark too..but the ending could have been real faster..it ended little soberly!!

but too many loose knots.. i dont see the significance of the scene in which the burrow gets burnt & final scenes could definitely use some duels..movie ended very vaguely.. muggle (people who have'nt read the book ;0D) folk would have had pretty hard time figuring it out..
