Master of the game!!

The stars have atlast shone down on this great writer, one of my favourites the guy who brought us Ashely Patterson,Tracey Whitney,Dana Evans,Lara Cameroon,Commander Bellamy and many more, most of his readers were women. Asked why this was the case he said: "I like to write about women who are talented and capable, but most important, retain their femininity. Women have tremendous power — their femininity, because men can't do without it."

My favourite novels of the author are as follows
Tell me your Dreams
If tomorrow comes
Are you afraid of the dark?
Master of the game
The Doomsday conspiracy

Name:Sidney Sheldon
Born: Feb 11,1917
Birthplace: Chicago IL
Died: 30-Jan-2007
Occupation: Author, Screenwriter
Nationality: United States
Autobiography: The other side of me(2005 incidentally his last book)

Over the years, Sheldon wrote for television, film, and stage, winning an Academy Award for Writing Original Screenplay (1947) for The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer, a Tony Award (1959) for his musical Redhead, and earned an Emmy Award for his work on I Dream of Jeannie, an NBC sitcom.

In 1969, Sheldon wrote his first novel, The Naked Face which earned him the Best First Novel Edgar Allan Poe Award from the Mystery Writers of America. His next novel, The Other Side of Midnight, went to #1 on the New York Times bestseller list as did several ensuing novels, a number of which were also made into motion pictures or TV miniseries,The novels contained a lot of suspense and devices to keep the reader turning the page.

Its the end of the sheldon era but am sure his books and characters will keep the author firmly rooted in everybody's heart, Adieu Sheldon..RIP!!

Wrote good page turners, books that you could finish in one sitting. Not an easy thing to do.
