Best Ever F1 Season!!! Is it Really??????

Once in a blue moon it refers to the frequency of my posts, because of the hectic schedule i am in am unable to find some good amount of time to this page, i forgot this completely mainly because of the other works am handling and once i saw my orkut profile i rememebered i had a page(just joking :-)).. call it short time memory loss.. with out much fuss i want to go into the topic which i wanted to deal about for quite some time about the statement i have been hearing for quite sometime in almost every race of this F1 Season which goes "This is the Best ever Season" this has been propagated mainly by Steve Slater(He s a Briton) who is the F1 Commentator for ESPN STAR and the word spread.

Basically i thought i would give up F1 ever since the retirement of the red baron(for people those who dont know him he is Michael Schumacher the seven time F1 World champ who retired last year for i hear people calling one #@#*&* rookie as the greatest F1 driver ever!! wat the hell???) but for the love of this sport i have been watching this for the past 10 years as far as i could remember and i followed it with more passion than cricket, i pursued it this year also... here goes my inference about what i term as one of the worst ever F1 seasons to have happened to the sport.

These are the popular illusions which people have about this season till now, i am pointing randomly and not according to the time frame..

"No single Driver monopoly this year"

"First time four drivers are vying for the coveted prize"

"After every race steve slater would say this is the best ever GP he has ever witnessed"

and worst of the lot

"Lewis Hamilton the next big thing in F1"

Here goes my take on things.. i have watched almost the entire season i feel this season did not quite have the drama and action which was expected out of a F1 season.. atleast the second half of the season provided some good overtaking the First half almost a big zero..zilch.. Win the pole win the race.. i dont know what people found so interesting in these races..here is my take on some of the drivers who influenced this season..

Fernando Alonso: The second best driver in terms of driving skill among the current drivers and the best driver this season( ya ya its me!! ) but he is having a crybaby attitude which will do him no good... when things doesnt go his way he literally starts crying.. after all driving is not the only thing in F1 there are some much other elements which are components of a champ if fernando could sort his attitude he will be more successful than he is right now..

Kimi Raikkonen: The Best driver in the current lineup in terms of sheer pace and dare devil overtaking skills.. the way in which he passed coulthard a wet track veteran on wet track in shanghai was breathtaking.. There is nothing wrong with this attitude(he sure is the iceman) but he misses the stroke of fortune lady so badly.. The highest paid driver in the world has gone too long with out a championship.. i hope that he makes it @ shanghai, though he made a slow start to the season he really closed the gap in the end.

Felipe Massa: This guy has blind pace, he starts and finishes well from a pole position and is equally good in overtaking.. he moved from 20 th to 5th spot in a matter of 2 laps in the English gp that was bloody amazing.. but he is too young and he doesnt have a champions attitude yet.. but the great thing about him is the fact he is a great team player.. hats off to felipe for tat!!

Lewis Hamilton: Did anyone know this guy one year ago??? !!
But he sure got whole of england behind him, just like the way they back tim henman when he enters every wimbledon to an extent that he is been referrred to as a Four time wimbledon quarterfinalist!! well coming back to lewis he is good racer thats all i could say for he has got the best car in the season which happened to be a mclaren(or should i say mclaren which has ferrari's design!!!) he has lead from start to finish well in all his three races but he is not a mercurial talent like he is been portrayed in the media.. he is ron dennis s puppet.. please give some time for us to evaluate him before giving too much hype to him.. of all i dont want him as a world champ..fernando or kimi please beat him!!

here is my verdict.. in my perspective a driver who has made it to F1 if he is given a good car he can do wonders with it, we all know this fact clearly for Ralf who is struggling in a toyota was a force to reckon with when he was driving a williams BMW.. he outpaced his brother many times when he was there...so i say please wait for 3 or 4 years and see whether he is really capable of that(i am referring lewis here) and i could say lewis hamilton is one of the lucky rookies for not many rookies get a car like what he has besides there are better rookies than him.. vettel with a slow car challenged lewis in shanghai.. similarly kubica or heidfeld given a good car they can be demons.. but why all this hype to this person???
in my view juan pablo montoya was the best rookie i ever saw........

No single Driver monopoly this year
I am tired of saying this fact, not many people liked the way schumi won his championship, they call it overdominance..but in a way lewis hamilton lead for the most of the season right from race three if my stats are right.. there were no fluctuations or topples in between..but people like a rookie leading a championship for most of the year but not a seven time world champ!!! i call it irony!!

First time four drivers are vying for the coveted prize
At the end of the day all four sided mazes turn into two, but in this season it turned into three but there were better seasons in which we had mika..schumi..coulthard vying for the top prize.. all people forgot about the 2003 season in which schumi..kimi.. montoya went into in the penultimate race as championship contenders..but the quality of overtaking was not at all impressive only the wet races saved some blushes to FIA..

Lewis Hamilton the next big thing in F1
This is the comment which i cannot tolerate, i have started all my points earlier itself.. for those people who support him i want to provide this fact.. there was a person by name jacques villeneuve not many know he was the world champ in 97 season.. but the very next season he was a nobody!! please wait for some time before comparing him with the legends.

This season has seen some notorious scandals, mclaren being stripped of the constructors championship because of the presence of ferraris design documents under the possession of its employee.. bitter rivalry i am referring to the row between alonso and hamilton(they are team mates).. unbiased team work i meant the mclaren team.. relationship between team boss and his champion driver .. this season had almost every scandal one could imagine.. yet people call it the best ever.. even if some mclaren guy wins the championship it will be tainted... but no many would agree with me and am not bothered about that..my verdict will never change "its one of the forgettable seasons in F1".. i can only hope that kimi could make the tifosi fans proud!! Beat them kimi!!
